Be fair by nature
Based on the Elaborate on the socio-economic justification of the organization of the Games of the Small States of Europe 2019 and in accordance with the strategy and the clear commitment of the olympic movement that, through sport, promotes sustainability and environmental protection, especially through the organization of sports events, the Montenegrin Olympic Committee issued “Green games” program, according to which the Games of Small States of Europe 2019 will be organized and on the basis of which principles the further organizational activities of Montenegrin Olympic Committee will be implemented.
This program is based on the principles of the Strategy of the International Olympic Committee on sustainability and environmental protection, as well as on the strategy of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of the Government of Montenegro.
The project of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee "Not just a field game – be fair by nature", which promoted sport and its role in environmental protection was rated as one of the best projects in this area within the Olympic solidarity of the International Olympic Committee.
The slogan of "Green games" will be It is natural to be fair (Be fair by nature).
In cooperation with the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, relevant experts and organizations from ecology and environmental protection, an instruction for the organization of sports competitions will be prepared that need to be complied with in order to organize and maintain competitions without having a negative impact on the environment. For the purposes of the organization of Games MNE2019, the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, as the main carrier of this project, will employ more than 500 volunteers, over 250 members of associations and clubs as well as 50 employees from five Montenegrin municipalities working in sports, that will all undergo training which integral part will be a GREEN aspect of the MNE2019 Games.
The goal of education, but the complete project as well, is that all national associations and their technical staff pass training and adopt these solutions and recommendations, and implement them when organizing all future events in Montenegro.
